Welcome to Knitted Souls!

Dedicated to celebrating

the love story of Frodo and Sam

Something disastrous has happened since all my files have disappeared - please be patient while I rebuild!

My blog is called "Moment of Grace: Spiritual Warfare in The Lord of the Rings" and is based on the book I am writing.  I hope you will stop by and take a look!

"And the soul of Sam was knit to the soul of Frodo, and Sam loved him as his own soul." (paraphrase of 1 Sam 18:1)

"[Tolkien] depicts Sam and  Frodo's friendship as a thing of exquisite beauty, even holiness." (Prof. Ralph C. Wood, The Gospel According to Tolkien, pg 135).  Thank you, Professor!  God bless you.

"To me, The Lord of the Rings depicts a powerful bond of love between two male hobbits, with the complete absence of sexuality.  In that sense, it's remarkably innocent and pure.  ... I remain convinced that the power of their friendship derives primarily from the purity and innocence of their love for one another." (Sean Astin, There and Back Again: An Actor's Tale, p. 246, 248).  Rock on, Sean!  Thank you!  God bless you.

Greetings, my fellow hobbit lovers!

I don't know how often I am going to be updating this site for awhile. I know updates are already far and few
between,
but it will probably get even longer and I wanted to warn you.

I request your prayers please. I am making my first attempt at a book length non-fiction piece. It's going to be

on the spirituality of the Lord of the Rings. Finally a way to make money (hopefully) and still be with our hobbits!

The best of both worlds! :)

I have read many books on the subject and the web is full of such essays that I have yet to read so I was inspired to

add to it all. I have grown so much through this story - learning as much from Aragorn as I have from Frodo - and

I want to spread the good news (or I should say Good News, if I could be so bold). So please, pray most importantly

that this book is a spiritual success. That is more important than financial, though I hope for that too! But if I could

touch someone or more than one and guide them like I have been guided, that would be so cool. Of course, I am

merely a pencil in God's Hand. It would be to His credit and glory any spiritual success since I am not speaking myself

of these matters. I know the Enemy is going to try hard to make sure I lose heart on this so I need your prayers to

strength my spiritual armor so his fiery darts will not harm me. It will still be a long time before you see anything

since I am just in my notetaking/transcribing to computer/reading more books stage. I want to have it out at the

same time The Hobbit movie comes out. I also want to quit my job so I can work on this full time, since that is

what it's going to need, but I can't do that because "I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go." :(

Hantanyel and lots of hobbity hugs and love for all your prayers!

No Iluvatar na le! (May God be with you!)

Namarie,

Your scribe and His,

Antane :)
